| FOR A DAY OF FUN AND FASCINATION! Set in a hundred acres of delightful Hampshire countryside, Marwell offers a relaxing and fascinating day out. This world-famous zoo is at the heart of wildlife conservation. The animals are the big attraction. Come face to face with Siberian tigers, enjoy the jungle calls of the gibbons, watch zebra graze and gallop in their large paddocks. Every enclosure is right for each species – browsers for tall giraffe, logs and branches for agile coatis, ropes and swings for mischievous macaques, platforms for the watchful Big Cats – the health and welfare of the animals come first. Activities include Creature Close-ups, face painting, touch tables and enclosure talks. Don’t miss Encounter Village, Penguin World, Tropical World, Nightlife for nocturnal animals and owl aviaries. New for 2000 – Colobus Monkeys, Hamlyn’s Monkeys, the mysterious Fossa from Madagascar, and a new display of small mammals including rodents. Marwell is six miles south east of Winchester with easy access from M3 and M27. Open at 10am everyday until 6pm in the summer. Large shop, adventure playground, road and rail train. Family ticket available
