The Porterhouse

113 Poole Road
Westbourne
Bournemouth
Dorset
BH4 9BG

Winner of local CAMRA's Pub of the Year award five times in seven years, including joint winner in 2000, with 2 more added in 2006 this superb pub owned by Ringwood Brewery who have recently been taken over by Marston's originaly Banks. Redecorated a couple of years ago, this local pub offers the complete range of Ringwood Beers plus usually one guest ale and a tradional cider. Food, served Mon-Sat, basic and is excellent value. There are no fruit machines or loud music (none required), only the sound of conversation. A proper pub; but watch out for the ghost. The good news is a sparkler is available when Banks original is being served.

Small, light, open bar featuring a wood floor, panelling, seating around the walls and settles which give the pub a cosy atmosphere. Taxi rank and Bus stop across the road and esay to find in the heart of Westbourne were there is plenty of parking.
